- Slice the mushrooms. Cook the pasta until al dente, drain, and reserve ½ cup pasta water.
- Melt butter in a skillet; cook mushrooms until they release liquid and smell nutty. Pour in milk and simmer gently until it bubbles.
- Add pasta with a little pasta water; toss until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.
