- Slice beef thinly against the grain; marinate with soy sauce, rice wine, cornstarch, and half the black pepper for 10 minutes.
- Cut the onion into strips.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high; stir-fry beef about 2 minutes until colored; remove.
- Stir-fry onion 1 minute, return beef with remaining pepper, and toss 30 seconds.
