Garlic Broccoli Tofu Stir-Fry

Pan-fry tofu first so it stays intact; keep broccoli crisp in the wok.

Steps

How to make it

Prep 9 min · Cook 10 min

  1. Cut broccoli 160 g into small florets; cube tofu 1 block about 2 cm and pat dry; mince 2 garlic cloves. Mix 1 tsp soy sauce and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; pan-fry tofu in a single layer until lightly golden on both sides (about 1 minute per side); set aside.
  3. Add 1 tsp olive oil to the same pan; sauté garlic 20 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli over high heat and stir-fry 2 minutes until deep green; stems should stay slightly crisp.
  5. Return tofu and gently toss 1 minute; drizzle with soy sauce and salt.
  6. Serve when tofu is evenly coated and broccoli is tender but still crisp.

Tips & storage

Make it easier

  • Blanch broccoli 30 seconds first for more predictable doneness.
  • Drain vegetables well before cooking; excess water steams them and softens the texture.

Refrigerate up to 1 day; reheat over medium-high in a skillet.

Substitutions

Broccoli can be swapped for cabbage.

Optional add-ins

+Shredded pork+Shrimp+Shiitake mushrooms

FAQ

Tofu keeps breaking?

Sear one side until set before flipping.

Can I add eggs?

Yes—scramble them in at the end for extra protein.

What should I do if the vegetables release water?

Drain them well and cook in batches so the pan stays hot instead of turning the vegetables soft and watery.
