Butter Garlic Instant Noodles

Drain noodles and stir-fry for more texture than soup alone; butter and garlic carry the flavor.

Steps

How to make it

Prep 4 min · Cook 8 min

  1. Mince 3 garlic cloves. Boil 1 pack instant noodles about 2 minutes until 80% cooked (center still slightly firm); drain and reserve 3 tbsp cooking water.
  2. Melt 15 g butter in a skillet over low heat; cook garlic until golden and fragrant, about 1 minute (watch it does not burn bitter).
  3. Add noodles and reserved water; toss over medium heat about 1 minute until coated in garlic butter.
  4. Push noodles to one side; crack in 1 egg and fry over low heat until whites set and yolk stays runny if you like.
  5. Taste and adjust with a pinch of salt and black pepper; finish with the remaining 5 g butter off heat.

Tips & storage

Make it easier

  • Use half the seasoning packet to keep salt in check.
  • Spread chilled rice or cooked noodles before cooking so they separate instead of clumping and take on sauce evenly.

Best eaten immediately.

FAQ

No butter?

Olive oil plus a splash of milk works with a milder flavor.

Can I prepare this ahead of time?

Yes. Refrigerate the cooked starch and toppings separately, then reheat and combine just before serving for better texture.
