Dry wings roast crisper; brush honey glaze only in the last few minutes to avoid burning.

Steps

How to make it

Prep 10 min · Cook 28 min

  1. Rinse 8 chicken wings and pat completely dry—the drier the skin, the crispier after roasting.
  2. Rub with a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and 1/8 tsp chili powder; marinate 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 200°C; line a baking sheet with parchment; arrange wings skin-side up; roast 18 minutes, flipping once at the 9-minute mark.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk 2 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and the remaining paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder into a glaze.
  5. Remove wings, brush glaze on both sides, and return to the oven.
  6. Roast 8–10 minutes more until caramelized and juices tighten—watch the last 2 minutes to avoid burning.
  7. Rest 2 minutes before serving.

Tips & storage

Make it easier

  • Air fryer 190°C about 22 minutes; brush sauce in the last 5 minutes for similar results.
  • Rest meat for 2–3 minutes before slicing; when pieces vary in thickness, check the thickest center for doneness.

Refrigerate up to 2 days; reheat in the oven to restore crisp skin.

FAQ

How do I keep the main ingredient from drying out?

Adjust the heat for thickness, rest before slicing, and reheat chilled portions gently after cooling them completely.
